A thankful me - 21

HI my buddies!! Its been so long, how have you all been?? Are we all enjoying this 3 day weekend as much as possible? I know I am. Lots of sleep. Lots and lots of sleep {and really weird dreams}.

My life has been crazy busy lately, hence the whole blog slacking. When dishes pile up for 4 days straight, you know this girl is busy, cause chica no likey dirty dishes. I’ve been doing my FT job followed by my little business I have at nights and weekends, that equals working 13-14 hour days. Talk about pooped! I haven’t had time for anything else.

But yesterday and today have been nothing but relaxing and its oh so nice.

This week, I’m thankful for:

- all who gave their lives so we can go on doing what we do daily
- my man being willing to sacrifice himself by being in the military
- having today off. It is beyond needed
- my busy schedule. It wears me out but I’m happy to have things to do whereas before, I did nothing
- helpful friends coming to my aide when I need them
- my new favorite necklace-Laguna, please say hi to everyone.

- knowing God is taking care of me and the ones I love. As if I ever should doubt
- a co worker giving me a Starbucks gift card as a thank you for helping them…even if it turned out to be a ‘re gift’

- baking hard ‘boiled’ eggs in the oven. Not sure why they had the brown stuff on them, but they turned out really good!! I did it for 325 for 30 minutes, but I think I’ll do 25 next time since the yoke had a small gray ring around it. This is so much easier than water. I always manage to overcook in water.

I have lots of topics that I look forward to talking with you guys about this week, so stay tuned!

Random question: I saw my neighbor’s front door wide open (as she sometimes keeps it) so I walked in to say hi, and ended up waking her from a nap on the couch…not 10ft. from the open door. I felt bad, she felt bad and I ended up turning around to let her go back to sleep.

My question, could you ever sleep on your couch while your front door is wide open (no screen)??

- me?? No way!

Happy Memorial Day!!!

I’ve been rewarded

The ever so sweet, loveable, adorable, wonderfully worded and beautiful Angie at Living Aloha tagged me in the Versatile Blogger Awards! Yay! Thank you, Angie!! You are the best!

If you don’t know Angie, please, go introduce yourself. She’s great, you’ll love her. And tell her I sent you.

The rules are clear:
- Thank the award-giver and link back to them in your post.
check
- Tell your readers 7 things about yourself.
see below, check
- Give this award to 3 bloggers.
I changed it to a manageable 3 (it was up to 15!) and check
- Contact those bloggers and tell them the exciting news!
soon to check

Way back in the day read: May, ‘11, I gave 7 random facts about myself and lucky for you, I’m pretty random so I have plenty more to share. Ironically 1 of the 7 involve my love of cheese and appropriately enough I was screaming at Angie just how much I love fried cheese, Tuesday. I pray I’m never lactose intolerant because I love me some cheese.

Okay, on to the 7!

1. I’ve walked on a 10ft long bed of hot coals..twice. I was also told I was the slowest walker of the group. Never once feeling pain..except the very last step when a coal got stuck between my toes.

2. I have recurring dreams about me going the bathroom. I will not elaborate beyond, its always me. a toilet. and a wide open room w/people all around. And it almost became a reality when I walked into a park restroom in HI where there was 1 toilet with NO door (on purpose)…and women around.
…did I mention I had that dream the night before??

3. When I first moved to Los Angeles, for 3 months straight, I ate chocolate every single day. I craved it and could never get enough…after a 15lb gain, I was forced to cut back to every other day.

4. I once body slammed a girl fighting for a jump ball during a basketball game. She had to be helped off the court. (I was a bit competitive. And yes, it was legal.)

5. The first time I ever fell asleep in class was in the 3rd grade. That started many many years of sleeping in classes for me.

6. I am available 24/7. When G-man or my mom, calls or texts and I don’t answer or call back within 5 minutes (on the off chance I can’t answer), they start to worry and proceed to leave a very concerned voicemail or multiple texts of concern.

7. Because I AM so available, whenever you tweet me or text me, I’ll purposely wait a couple minutes so you think I have a life even though I got your text/tweet the moment you sent it. Often times, because I force myself to wait…<to look good in your eyes>, I forget you texted/tweeted me, which is why I prefer to respond immediately.

Alrighty rooty! On to the tagging. These 3 ladies, I’ve really come to enjoy getting to know. I hope you check them out if you haven’t had a chance yet!

You’re home! You’re home! You’re home!

{That’s his travel case}
Can you believe it?! It’s here! It’s home with me!

G-man said he had a present for me once he arrived and pulled out my bestest, favoritest pillow of all time.

I may have jumped up and down clapping my hands, squealing, giving my pillow the biggest hug ever. And he may have looked at me odd and laughed.

What’s even better about him bringing my pillow is, he doesn’t read my blog. He never knew I wrote about how much I missed my pillow the other day. He just brought it because he knows I love it and it helps my neck. I. love. that. man!

He cracked up when I told him I wrote about it last week.

Have I said I love that man? Because I do! He’s so thoughtful and quick to consider me. I have slept better the past few days than I have since being back. aaaaaahhhh

My pillow, I love you and promise to never leave you again. Cross my heart!

I miss you so much

Dear Pillow,

It’s been exactly 37 days since we were last together and my days haven’t been the same since. I’m using another pillow and you must know, he doesn’t compare to you. You know me so well, that you don’t even think when to support my neck or cup my cheek, you just do. And he… well…

I think of you every day and night. All the memories we’ve had together. The beautiful sleep we’ve shared. All our trips we’ve gone on. I would take you everywhere with me and you were eager to go. Remember driving across country with me? Yeah, I do too. Those were great times weren’t they?

I know I said I’d never leave you behind, but we talked about this and knew it was the right decision to leave you in Hawaii. I remember making sure you were all fresh and clean before I left and tucked you in nice and snug with all the other pillows so you’d feel a part of the new group…and I think they took to you quickly too. (I hope they’re treating you well.) Giving you a loving pat before I walked out of the room…it was all I could do to keep from crying.

I want you to know you mean so much to me and to show you how much I care, today I’m leaving your side of the bed empty…in honor of you. All the other pillows were eager to show tribute to you too by moving over.

I don’t sleep the same without you! I love and miss you oh so much and can’t wait until we’re reunited again.

Fully devoted to you,
Emily Pin It Now!
