A thankful me - 17

It’s the last day of the month!!! Can you believe it??! What will you do to celebrate?

Eat a hotdog?
Play a game?
Take a shower?

All good suggestions, I know. I’ll probably do 2 of the 3. I’ll let you guess which ones.

My weekend was pretty great. I did a little bit of this… {with SPF50 of course}
photo (10)
and a little bit of this… {slightly overcooked…}
photo (3)
Its chicken, in case you were wondering. From The Hungry Mouse.

This week, I’m thankful for:
- taking the time to delete almost 2000 pictures from my computer, freeing up all that space. I still have close to 3000 more to go through. I’ve deleted close to 4000 in the past couple months!
- getting some much needed vitamin-d over the weekend.
- making meals. Sometimes it doesn’t happen all that often.
- G-man sending me a joke in the middle of the night so I’d get it in the morning to cheer me up since I was down the night before.
- my glorious a/c that’s cooling down my apt. this very moment.
- people asking me to take their kids/family pictures. I also get to be the 2nd photographer for an upcoming wedding. I kinda ambushed the bride (whom I’d never met) with the original photographer to let me shoot and she agreed. I’m classy like that…forcing brides solely for my benefit. Well, she will get my pictures and of course I’m not charging. Ambushing pretty much requires it being free.
- beautiful pictures from G-man (double rainbow) This is his view from his front door.
HI
Oh, I have a question for you photographers or anyone who’d have advice…how did you start telling friends that you’re charging for your photo sessions?

I was asked to do a friend’s family pictures and another friend’s kids’ pictures and they’ve known I haven’t charged in the past and have been ‘practicing’ on other friends, but I want to begin letting them know there’s a cost now….uummmm, how do I do that?

How’d your weekend’s go, everyone?

Friday’s letters

let’s do this…

Dear bird, you shouldn’t do loops and tricks when I’m driving by you. I hope your last moments here on earth were enjoyable.
Dearest peanut butter, I don’t what it is lately that’s making you a thousand times better but I’m needing to replace you every 2 weeks, you’re just that delicious to me. Please don’t ever stop.
photo (7)photo (8)

Dear a/c repairman, thank you so so much for fixing my a/c even though I haven’t turned it on once since because a cold front came in. It’s the thought that counts with me.
Dear HIMYM, you’re just awesome..and watching you from the beginning on netflix is keeping me laughing. You’re almost my new ‘friends’ but not quite.

Dear .42 cent food scraper, you have been the light of my life and the best purchase .42 cents could get me. We will never part..ever.
Dear pest man, I will humbly accept that maybe one of my dried goods is infested with these ‘grain beetles’ as you call them even though I’ve looked over everything and found nothing…I will look again…because you said so.
Dear grain beetles, you may be very good at playing dead so I’ll leave you alone, but just remember, I’m the one that has the final say in your death…don’t push me.
Dear Spirit 88.9, thank you for personally telling me that your dj’s act worldly to attract ‘normal people’ (as you put it) to your radio station as your ‘ministry’. You’ve made it so easy for me to replace your preset to another station in my car and tell all my friends what you’re doing.
Lovingly, Em

Photobucket
Have a fun filled weekend everyone!!
Thanks for going gentle on me in my failures of gossiping yesterday!! Though I have to pat my back for deflecting you from chiding me by talking about cussing. I’m good like that!

…and then there was egg

Well, I’ll be if there isn’t egg on my face. Who wants to guess what I did last night…last night after writing all about what shouldn’t be done on the blog yesterday???

I was among friends (which totally justifies it) and was telling a story (to seal the justification) and a story wouldn’t be complete without unnecessary backstories about a person they’ll never meet.

I did say at the end, that I really should stop writing out my sins for the world to see because it just seems to make me want to do them more..which, isn’t that always the case? Your faults and shortcomings are brought to your attention to be rectified only to make you want to do them just a little bit more for a little bit longer?

The bad funny side of me wants to say that it was a great story…just ask my friends. They were laughing up a storm..and believe me when I say it wasn’t at the person, but at my superior story telling skills about my day. Cause that was the main theme: my day.

I’m still justifying this. Bad Emily!

I intended to roll into a post today that would have been brilliant. Angels would have sang at my insight, but then I told my ‘story’ and figured this was more fitting of a rolling.

Speaking of mimicking new groups of people…when I was young and oh so impressionistic read:18 I got this new job where everyone cussed. It wasn’t long before I was swearing up a storm, saying every word but 3. You know, the really bad words. Those I wouldn’t say but everything else was fair game. I started to think I was cool cause I was just like them.

I remember at one point I was talking to my brother and said a cuss word and he stopped me saying it just made me ugly. It gave me pause but all I thought of was, ‘guys say it, so why be so hypocritical.’ and continued my swearing.

1 1/2 years later those words would flow like any other word in my vocabulary and then one day I was driving with my mom and I swear (ha) that I will never forget this moment; I pulled out of the parking lot to get onto the busy street and didn’t see a car coming from my left. A word just came out as I slammed on the breaks. I never would swear in front of my mom, I always made sure, but this moment, I was so far gone in my control of cussing that it slipped in her presence.

via

From that moment on I stopped cussing. I went cold turkey. It wasn’t easy and truth be told, I’ve said some words since (I did work in a prison after all…I’m bound to be forced to repeat a bad word for a report) but I don’t anymore.

I feel free from it. Its like it’s a daily challenge to think outside that little box of cuss words to say something with flare instead.

           ~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~::~~

Now, for the questions:
Do you swear and what’s your opinion on it? Not a big deal? Or does it bother you that you do it?

What’s your take when you hear women swear?

Do you think guys get an easier ‘out’ to swear than girls?

Have you had a bad habit that you’ve just had to quit cold turkey? And did it work?

Changes within me

I’ve been going through some changes. No, not the kind of changes where I believe just by taking medication to deepen my voice and that gives me facial hair to make me a “guy”, while getting pregnant just so I can be called the ‘first man to have a baby’ when in all actuality still have lady parts to carry said child…

but the kinds that involve my personality.

sorry, that really bothers me! She’s a woman!

I’ve been around some new people lately. A lot of new people. And with being around new people come the challenges of personality blending. Sometimes it becomes very easy for me to click and fit right in, but its not always a good thing.

My new personality has been grating on my nerves. The majority of the new people are women and there’s a large amount of women who shine in the gossip division. Or talk behind your back division. I don’t do this and generally don’t encourage them, but sometimes I get that pull to want to know more. So I’ll think of ways to round about ask without showing complete interest.

Because I think, I have to know this for the future..it could be beneficial for myself, so I can be prepared.

Oh the lies we can be filled with to believe its ok to gossip about others! ..and did you know that even though you aren’t contributing to the gossip with words, you’re still gossiping by listening??

But not only that, I’ve found I’ve created this Valley way of speaking. I caught myself doing it all day the other day. Like I’m some sort of valley girl. I can hear it in my head and it makes me cringe. After every sentence I would mentally kick myself, thinking they probably think my IQ has dropped with each word.

Then there was the group of tweens that I came across and I talked like them. It was like an out of body experience watching myself say, ‘hey guys!’ ‘cool!’ all while talking it this high pitched voice! I wanted to gag, I was so disgusted.

I don’t know why I’m doing this but only to think I feel the immediate need to fit in, when I absolutely would rather be myself but myself isn’t letting me do that.

Such a conundrum!

I’m desperate for a balance of it all and in time, I know it’ll come but this me that I’m portraying is enough to never want to be friends with her. Too plastic for my liking.

Do you find when you’re around a new group of people that you change a little bit?

If it does, do you eventually fall back into who you are, or keep with your new persona since it fits better with that group?

Or do you stay true to who you are from the beginning?

Clean up on aisle 7

I feel bad.

Somehow I got you all to believe those bridesmaid dresses I showed on Friday were dresses I was choosing from.

Not.the.case.

All 4 of those dresses were other bridesmaid’s choices. We’ve been given the go to get any style we want (within the boundaries I rattled off on Friday). Before purchasing, we get the thumbs up from the bride and seal the deal once she approves.

Unfortunately none of the 4 dresses the bridesmaids chose, would be choices I would choose. {ha! say that sentence 5 times fast!}

Some of you provided websites to look through and I thank you! I’ve been looking through them and Tabitha came up with some mighty good ones..and I added to it. So here, so far, are some of my choices:

via Nordstrom and Nordstrom

via Macy's and Alfred Angelo

There was a 5th one, but the bride already nixed it, so no point in putting it up. Though I haven’t shown her the 2nd set of options. She loves the top two, and I actually love the first one but they don’t have it in my size, nor plan on getting it anytime soon.

So, thoughts? Now that you know what I’m actually choosing from, you can see how my style differs from the others. I told you I’m not a trendy person, I think this proves it…even when I was shooting for being more trendy.

A thankful me - 16

Can I just say, every Sunday night I sit and stare at the screen as I figure out how to welcome a new Monday. Does anyone else get tired of reading the same, ‘It’s Monday, how was your weekend?!’ opening liners? I always shoot for the creative side and most times can’t think of a darn thing beyond, ‘Happy Monday’. {guess I’m not that creative..}

So, how was your weekend? –I kid..but not really, cause I wanna know, since clearly I’m about to tell you mine.

It went a little something like this:
Friday night – whew, it’s a little hot in the apt., let me turn on the A/C to cool it down before I go to sleep.
20 minutes of the A/C being ‘on’ and no air is coming out. Its broken.
Saturday – ::weather report:: today will be the hottest day of the year!! 20 degrees hotter than normal. (90+*)
me.sweating.
Sunday – another uncharacteristic scorcher!
me deciding to run the oven for an hour at 415*, along with the stove on med-high heat for 30, along with washing the dishes in hot water all while the temperature rises over 80 in my apt, leaving me sweating buckets…at the hottest part of the day.
(I’ve been told I’m bright)

Hopefully
the landlord sends someone lickity split, cause this girl is melting!

This very week, I’m thankful for:
- floor fans and fruit smoothies to cool me down…oh and an open freezer.
- Jennifer for being such a good sport during all my teasing last week.
- a 2nd pair of shoes. I’ve gone smart (disregard my weekend recap) and bring a 2nd pair of “comfy” shoes in case my other shoes break me…which they usually do.
- officially cutting back my 2 spoonful's of sugar in my coffee to 1. It took over a month but I’m now down to 1 spoon of sugar! My body is cheering…my mouth is still accepting.
- finally finishing a photo album I’ve been working on for 10 months! Its been such a horrendous labor of love, but cannot wait to get it in my hands.
- a great party hosted by my friend. A great time was had by all.
me before the sweating took place..ok, that’s a lie. I was already sweating at this point.

Tell me how you spent your weekend? Was it in a pool? Filled with ice?? –no? must have just been in my dreams…

Calling all cars!

I need your help!

I’m on the quest for a bridesmaid dress for my friend’s wedding in August. The criteria…

- at the knee or above
- champagne/blush color
- a sort of chiffon fabric with detail, but not print
- trendy

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not trendy! so this is actually pretty hard. The wedding will be outside in Carmel, to give you an idea of setting.

Here are some of the other bridesmaids choices. Not choices I would ever choose for myself, ever, but clearly this shows what I need to gravitate toward (and I use that term so very loosely) to blend it properly.

2012-03-29_08-05-07_643

I think this one is still up for approval from the bride…

via RiverofRomancek

So now you know what I’m working with and just how much help I need. If you have good websites, please send them my way! I haven’t shopped for a nice dress in years! and haven’t been in a wedding since I was 18! So again, I. need. your. help!!!

Here’s what I imagine. I think its on a cliff, so it’ll be windy. I definitely want to stay away from anything that will blow up providing a peepshow for the unsuspecting guests. Maybe they’d suspect it, but I’d rather just let the focus stay on the bride and groom and not whether or not I matched my underwear to the dress.

Thank you in advance for your help! Pin It Now!

A hodge podge of awesome

I have so much to tell you! Where do I begin…

First: I have to tell you about the enchiladas. Remember me crying about them on Monday? How I went on and on about how the leftovers would make me gag? Weeeeell, I’m just as surprised to tell you that I love the leftovers. Sooo much more than the day I made them. I’m very happy I didn’t throw them away, which I almost did because they’re delicious! –who knew!?

appleWhen you were a little girl, did you ever twist the stem off your apple while singing the ABC’s? I found some of you hadn’t heard of this, and was surprised. I thought surely it was a requirement growing up a girl.

What you do is twist and sing, and whatever letter the stem pops off on (naturally, not forced) is the first letter of the boy you’ll be with. Well its not much of a surprise I still do this as an adult. One night, I twisted and sang and wouldn’t you know, it popped right off on “G”. I screeched my delight right there in the kitchen. {yes, it’s a little pathetic..}

One A lot of you asked about how I shot my self portraits. I shot it with a tripod and remote with my 35mm lens. For the most part I kept my settings at:
aperture: f/3.2
shutter speed: 1/200
ISO: 200
So..there you go for all you inquiring mind..(s)

Because putting it on instagram (I’m emilygrapes if you want to follow) and twitter wasn’t enough yesterday, I just had to (I’m sorry Jennifer!) share this today. I’m still laughing over her accidental comment. STILL laughing!! I never said I was 100% mature. I think this post proves that back in September…and I just busted up laughing re reading that post..

…..aaaaaaand just busted up laughing posting this picture! *catching breath*

JJ! If you knew what you’ve done to me with this, my word girl! I think I’ll be rolling for days on this one!! Clearly she meant ‘dogs’ from yesterday’s post…clearly… Pin It Now!

Dogs vs Cats

My momma sent this my way and I about died laughing. I’m a cat person…though I’m very allergic to them..not to mention I’m allergic to dogs too..but since I don’t really like dogs {gasp} it doesn’t bug me since I’m never near them. {am I going to lose followers for that statement?} But I’d love a cat… *sigh*

Maybe you’ve seen this, and maybe you know where it came from (and if you do, let me know so I can link back to it) but enjoy the read!

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of My Captivity
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.

For now ...

Baby legs and eggs

I shouldn’t be in charge of taking pictures of monumental moments…or just moments for that matter because the turn around on them is longer than anyone would like. Granted, I wasn’t really in charge of taking the Easter egg hunt pictures, I just happened to be the only one doing it, {shame on you, sister} and then was given the ‘can’t wait to see your pictures’ statement, therefore, I unintentionally became the one ‘in charge’.

On the good side, its only been 9 days, which many who’ve waited for my pictures know 9 days is zooming fast. I’ll lie and say I did this on purpose since I knew everyone and their mothers would show their kids hunting eggs all last week and I wanted to make sure you were good and rested before showing them. Its diabolical and brilliant, if you think about it.

I’ll remind you in case you nodded off during last week’s post, that I was with my family for Easter. We had a feast fit for kings and later went outside to watch the kiddies hunt for eggs. My 1 1/2 year old niece was adorable…I’m gonna guess this was her first official egg hunt, since she was a newborn last time, but who knows, maybe she hunted back then; who’s to say.

em43em44

I think she’s just a little happy over her find.em45em46

Her brother and sister are old pros at it, so after getting spun around, they were off!
em49em50em51

To say they were all excited by their finds, is an understatement
em47
I think she has more money at 1 1/2 years old than I ever did at that age.
em48

If I remember correctly, we always only got coins in the way of money. My nieces and nephew are living it up with bills!

What did you have in your eggs growing up? Coins? Candy? Bills? or Toys?

And what do you put in your eggs now for your kids..provided you have them?

A thankful me - 15

Oh hello, Monday. We meet again.

How iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis everyone!? That’s a question I haven’t asked you guys in a long time! Please please tell me!

This past week has been pretty busy and exhausting and I have to say sleeping in on the weekend was the greatest thing ev-eh!! And then staying in my comfies the whole time was also the greatest thing ev-eh.

I want to give a huge shout out to Lisa, Erin and Lindsay for linking up to the self portrait challenge. You ladies did a beautiful job and are so great for taking the time to play along. Thank you! If you haven’t had a chance to see their pictures, you must check them out. They’re beautiful.

This lovely Monday, I’m thankful for:
- new challenges and busy schedules.
- skype calls with G-man. You know how you say at the beginning that you have nothing to talk about but then 2 hours later, you’re still on the call? Yeah, that was us. Love those conversations.
- getting a $60 pair of jeans (my first colored jeans, no less) for $6 at Kohl’s. I’m in love!
photo (20)
- stormy days. All this rain has been great.
- a gas fireplace for the moments the power goes out. Which it did for 1 1/2 hours. I set up candles all up and down my apt. to light my every step. Thank goodness I own 100 votive candles! They sure came in handy!
IMG_1830IMG_1841

- the fact I randomly charged my iPhone before the power went out. I always charge it while I’m sleeping but chose to do it that evening. If I hadn’t it would have died. No power, no phone…who would I have been!?!
- food that others think are good but I think aren’t. {mom, feel free to roll your eyes on this} I made the chicken enchiladas on pinterest that everyone raves are the best they’ve ever had…well…I’m a weirdo and despise anything resembling a casserole. Once I started stirring in the sour cream, I had a feeling they’d taste like one and sure enough, I could barely stomach eating them. The consistency is what I abhor. All that to say, I’m braving having them for leftovers this week, which may induce gagging/dry heaving..and sadly, I’m not joking, but please make them! I know others who love them! Oh and I burnt the garlic bread…I’m so my mother’s daughter.
pixphoto (18)

- the crisp clean sunny days immediately following the storms. Its so smoggy and gross here, I relish those fresh aired days.

Oh, by the way, I did in fact hear a farmer’s cherry orchard was ruined due to our crazy storms, so I was right! If you see fruit at ridiculous prices this season, you sadly know why.

Hope everyone had a glorious weekend! Share with me the goodies.

I’m not in Kansas

…yet, we were under a tornado warning Wednesday. Tornado…California… yeah, those don’t go together. Earthquake, sure, but not tornado.
via

So people were freaking out as they heard they needed to get in a sturdy building and ‘take cover’. The girl I was with at the time was panicked. So panicked, she informed me she had the runs and bad gas because she’s that panicked.

uummmm, thanks. Please sit further away from me now.

I’d only known the girl for 3 days. Apparently I have that ‘please tell me anything’ face.

I went outside {because that’s what people do when they’ve never been in a tornado warning} and looked at the sky where it was supposed to be coming. And I have to say, the sky looked extra ominous. {it was neat!}

After awhile, the wind picked up, the rain/hail dumped down and the lighting covered the sky, followed immediately with beautiful glorious monstrous thunder. I love thunder!! But not the girl I was with, as she screamed (yes, screamed) and cowered under her desk. she’s a grown woman, in case you’re curious.

I admit, I started laughing at with her, thinking she was joking…she wasn’t.

I confess, I blurted out that ‘something smelled’ before remembering that she had an “upset stomach” but played it off because, I really didn’t mean to say it. And really, we all have our moments…this is just hers.

All that to say, I was more worried about my precious car sitting unprotected in the rain/hail than my own life. I know, my priorities are all wrong..but alas, it’s the thing that gets me from A to B. – No tornado though. Just crazy weather that dumped so much quarter sized hail that 2 hours after, the ground was still covered white, making it look like snow. Not to mention the countless car accidents and the landslide that blocked the other {thankfully} side of the freeway.

Many orchards are no doubt damaged by this storm, so if you see fruit prices on the rise this season…blame the silly tornado warning here.

I sure hope your weekend outdoes last weekend. Because really, we need to show last weekend what’s up.

Self portrait party!!

Today’s the day!! I’ve been looking forward to this day for the past 2 weeks. I did my self portraits last week and I admit I had a lot of fun doing them. I felt goofy, sure, but I started enjoying them mid way and just went nuts. Like 80 pictures nuts.

’Go big or go home’ is what I say..only I was already at home, so I guess I did both.

Confession time before I show my portraits….I kept putting them off because I felt awkward… but I knew since I was the one that suggested this whole thing, that I had to at some point. It was painful to make myself do it.

Confession #2….I’m wearing my yoga pants the whole time. I hadn’t intended to actually take pictures that day, but my hair was working for me so I threw on a couple tops and went for it.

em48em50em54em49em51em52

I
promise I did actually smile in a lot of them, but these were my favorites all around.

Now its your turn!

Simple rules to link up:
1. grab my button for your post and link back here
2. link up your self portrait post {and not your homepage}
3. if you linked a post other than a self portrait post, I’ll use physical force. Ok, or I’ll just remove your link without harm.
4. have fun and check out everyone else’s hard and beautiful work

I know this wasn’t easy for some, so I really appreciate you putting yourself out there and taking picture of yourself. I’m keeping the linky party open for a few days in case you want to jump in!

Happy Birthday to my Edward

Today just so happens to be my one and only G-man’s birthday.

I’m so glad I wrote on his birthday last year. Its let me look back and remember where I was last year at this time.

As last year’s stated…yes, I’ll be quoting myself
”Of the 4 birthdays he's had with me around I've only been able to spend 1 with him. Crazy right?

1st year, he was in Japan for work.
2nd year, he was in Florida for work
3rd year, he was in Virginia for work..but I was there with him.
4th year, he's in X country for work.”

I can now add to the list of years not spent with him with this years birthday.
Let me throw the 5th year’s in, he’s in Hawaii while I’m in California.

It sucks, don’t get me wrong, but I am thankful I know this man as I am still quite in love with him, painful distance and all.

Capitalizing on a very goofy mood, I found what I deemed to be the best birthday card I’d ever found. One that I thought would suit him to a T {sarcasm}. One that I couldn’t stop laughing over for hours..and then days after mailing it.
em123
I sent him a Twilight card.

He is not a Twilight fan, in case you were wondering, which made it all the more sweeter, in my opinion. I signed the envelope ‘your Bella’ and the card, ‘To my Edward’ …for the full effect…which I think worked.

And this was his response upon reading it…albeit 3 days BEFORE his birthday!
photo (17)You have my permission to tease him over the ‘omg’. He just about fits with all the teen girls who love Twilight with that!

Happy Birthday my sweet G-man. Oh how I love you so and wish we could spend your day together. Pin It Now!

A thankful me - 14

Monday is here for all to cheer! I’d like to know how many actually cheer for Mondays. Poor sad Mondays never get the love they deserve. So far, I’m still loving April (in case you’re wondering). Too many good things are going on its ridiculous!

My weekend proved to be a very nice one with my family. Got plenty of time with my mom and dad and sister and her family. Which by the way, my sister pulled me aside to inform me that they don’t put candy in their Easter eggs therefore I won’t get to steal any from the kids. I really should get her to stop reading my blog. I can’t have her knowing all my plans!!

This week I’m thankful for:
- my 6 year old niece giving me a neck, hand and foot massage. There’s no child labor law being broken when they offer to do it, right??
em40
- stepping out of my room to find an Easter basket at the foot of my door from my Dad. You’re never to old to get an Easter basket, in my opinion. ~I love my Dad~

- all the time I got with my parents. Its never enough but I’ll take the time we do get together.
- all the delicious food we made for Easter Sunday. Mom made these Cheesecake stuffed strawberries and they were absolutely delicious. And very addicting!

- God’s amazing blessings. I can’t even begin to describe all that He’s doing for me right now but I’m blown away.
- new beginnings.
- my tax returns. This is the first time since I’ve lived in the state of CA that I get money back from the state. That’s 9 years that I’ve had to pay them. Now they get to pay me. I love it.
- my niece who turned 12 on Easter day. These kids are getting too old too fast.

I sure hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend.

Remember, you have 2 more days to do your self portraits. Wednesday is almost upon us!

The now

Outside my window…
wind chimes make soft music in the quickly warming breeze.

I am thinking…
of ways to help hide the Easter eggs from my niece and nephew so I can get the candy this weekend.

I am thankful for…
the month of April. Many many good things have already happened and I’m only 6 days in.

What I am learning…
that patience really pays off. ..and being still. ..and letting God be in control is really the best thing.

I am creating…
some killer self portraits. Might be a slight exaggeration but had a fun time doing them regardless.

I am going…
to my parents for Easter weekend. I’m in charge of making rolls and veggies.

I am hearing…
Henry Limpet’s annoying voice in the movie The Incredible Mr. Limpet. {corniest movie ever}

I am reading…
Stuck With You, a book I mistakenly bought on Amazon and quickly reading to get my refund in time.

I am hoping…
good news remains good news in the coming week.

I am trying...
to look only one day ahead.

I am praying for…
all of you… its true. and if you have a specific prayer, let me know, I’m happy to pray for you.

Around the house…
I see everything I need…minus milk.

One of my favorite things…
is talking and seeing G-man’s handsome face.

A few plans for the week…
a meeting that could bring on new things for me and a potentially lucrative road trip.

A picture…
of me testing out an area in my apartment for the self portraits. Barely no makeup, sloppy ponytail and very tired eyes…. you’re welcome.
