Kona with a side of fin

When we took the 20 minute drive to our hotel from the airport, I kept staring out the window, as the driver kept saying, ‘and there’s a wild goat..and there’s another..and there’s another’; thinking to myself, ‘this is it? Its one big lava field, why would anyone come here?’ Not 24 hours passed and I’m staring at awe at the lava mixed in with the beautiful greenery and the water crashing over the jagged lava rocks and think, ‘why wouldn’t anyone come here?!’ It was incredibly beautiful.

I think it surprised G-man how much he liked it there too. All he kept saying the entire time was how relaxed he was. How incredibly relaxing being there was. He even called the front desk on our last day to stay another night, but they were all sold out due to a concert, that’s how much he wanted to continue his relaxation.

One thing I enjoyed the most, was seeing the dolphins perform. Anyone can pay to interact with them, but we sat back and watched the kids and their parents have all the fun.

Did you know they not only do flips but they also twist and spin in the air? I’m amazed at what they can do.

its universally known that I am not tech savvy…so showing you a dolphin flip in the air in 3 pictures is h.a.r.d! But this is what I ‘created’ for your eyes only. you can thank me in a comment

Have you ever seen dolphins in person before?
Has everyone seen Angie’s post AND video of her swimming with wild dolphins?! It’s so beautiful! You have to see it if you haven’t. Even G-man thought it amazing.

Oh oh..and before anyone forgets…today is the last day of November. Just in case it slipped your mind. again…you can thank me in a comment.

Thank you!! Haha :) I am very grateful for your effort to put the 'dolphin flip' up in three sections. I actually wouldn't be able to do that, so you've got one up on me.

I live near Sea World and as part of a work thing, I got to go to a "breakfast with the dolphins". So amazing, getting to see them cruising past as I ate. You could see the spark and intelligence in their eyes. They knew that when humans appear, food often appears too. They would come right into the shallows and kind of lie there with their mouth open, waiting for some human to drop food into their mouth! They cracked me up!! As we were exiting the area, we had to walk down by the dolphins. I was by myself and found that I had a little (ok, dolphins are actually HUGE) dolphin trailing me in the water. I stopped and he stopped too and swam right up into the shallows. I started talking to him (because I can’t help it, I talk aloud to animals even in public) and he opened his mouth to receive his treat for being a good boy and coming into the shallows. It was SO hard not to just reach down and pet him, he was so close! When I explained to him that I didn’t have any food, he thought I was just playing hard to get. He raised his tail up, as if to say ‘How’s this for tricks? Surely that deserves a little bit of fish??”. It made me laugh.

Sorry for the long comment, I just liked sharing my dolphin story :)

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU!! I don't know what I would do without your blog...dolphin pictures AND telling me that it's the last day of November. This is the best post ever.

But on the real, we went once to watch a friend swim with dolphins and I fell in love with them!!
