Baby legs and eggs

I shouldn’t be in charge of taking pictures of monumental moments…or just moments for that matter because the turn around on them is longer than anyone would like. Granted, I wasn’t really in charge of taking the Easter egg hunt pictures, I just happened to be the only one doing it, {shame on you, sister} and then was given the ‘can’t wait to see your pictures’ statement, therefore, I unintentionally became the one ‘in charge’.

On the good side, its only been 9 days, which many who’ve waited for my pictures know 9 days is zooming fast. I’ll lie and say I did this on purpose since I knew everyone and their mothers would show their kids hunting eggs all last week and I wanted to make sure you were good and rested before showing them. Its diabolical and brilliant, if you think about it.

I’ll remind you in case you nodded off during last week’s post, that I was with my family for Easter. We had a feast fit for kings and later went outside to watch the kiddies hunt for eggs. My 1 1/2 year old niece was adorable…I’m gonna guess this was her first official egg hunt, since she was a newborn last time, but who knows, maybe she hunted back then; who’s to say.

I think she’s just a little happy over her find.em45em46

Her brother and sister are old pros at it, so after getting spun around, they were off!

To say they were all excited by their finds, is an understatement

I think she has more money at 1 1/2 years old than I ever did at that age.

If I remember correctly, we always only got coins in the way of money. My nieces and nephew are living it up with bills!

What did you have in your eggs growing up? Coins? Candy? Bills? or Toys?

And what do you put in your eggs now for your kids..provided you have them?

Our newest tradition is confetti eggs. REal egg shells filled with confetti that you get to smash on each others heads'! It's messy, but colorful and fun. I never remember having money in eggs as a kid, but my aunt always puts money (coins) in the eggs for my kids. Every time they pick one up they shake it and shout "Money!" or "Candy!"

Ps I'm impressed by your turn around... I barely uploaded mine!!

I think the Easter bunny actually only hid candy eggs (not eggs with candy in them) for us! Didn't hide any for Davis this year since he wouldn't have been able to appreciate it, but I guess I'll have to make that call next year!

Sweet pictures!! We only had candy in our eggs growing up. Coins if we got the "prize egg." My nieces and nephews got candy, money AND toys in their eggs this year. They're living it up too! :)

Growing up the Easter bunny brought us candy, but then my mom and dad would put money (coins) in the eggs we hunted for, but we could trade in the money for other prizes (new books, stuffed animals, silly putty, sidewalk chalk, etc.) I can't recall a time when we kept the money though.

They are all too cute! Growing up, we didn't do the Easter bunny, egg hunting thing, however, the tradition was to give candy, sweets, and colored real eggs from all your neighbors. So it was pretty much one of my favorite holidays.

AWWW! Look how excited she is!

We had candy in our eggs growing up, but I think I would have rather had cash. : )

What cute pictures! We usually had candy in our eggs. Occasionally we would have some money and those were always fun to find at any age!

I love these photos! They are all so precious! I try to be really good about getting photos up after big events, but it can take me ages sometimes, haha!

We always had candy, and occasionally coins in our eggs, too. My in-laws go all out for Easter, though, and hide a hundred 1$ bills and dollar gold coins in eggs. The kids took home almost $20 each this year. I like that kinda egg hunting. ;)
